ABOUT
Kalanikethan was established with an intention of creating a feasible home for Indian Classical art forms (Bharathanatyam & Mohiniyattam) in the city of Calgary and its surrounding neighborhoods.
We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to producing innovative & advanced works in the South Asian classical performing arts in the areas of education, performance, and production.

Dance school
Class structure & Fees
• At Kalanikethan, the classes are divided into 3 Levels:
• Beginner
• Intermediate
• Advanced
• Students will finish each level at their own speed, age, learning ability, class attendance and with regular practice.
• Each student will be awarded certificates on the completion of their corresponding levels.
• Kalanikethan will try its best to adjust the classes according to your convenience. Please contact the teacher to confirm the schedule of your classes.
• Summer workshops will be available for those students who wish to advance their training by doing a crash course.
• Kalanikethan is available for performances and lecture-demonstrations. Please contact us for more information.
Age:
. We take beginner students into our foundation year who have turned 5 by the 1st of September.
. We take students into all levels throughout the year if they have had previous Bharatanatyam training or take 1-to-1 classes to catch up with their classmates
. Adult Classes: Those who looking for leisure class and want to exercise for reducing weight / burning calories by learning an Indian classical dance.

Helping The Community
Kalanikethan Dance foundation is a non-profit organization, formed for spreading and promoting the social awareness of Indian classical dance forms across Alberta. Kalanikethan is dedicated to celebrate the cultural diversity of Canada.
Aim & objective:
• Educate and promote the youth Indian classical dance forms through lecture-demonstrations, workshops, and concerts.
• Increase and spread the social awareness about Indian Classical Dance across Alberta
• Promote local talent and artists of classical dance.
Mission:
• To provide opportunities for local Alberta residents of Indian heritage to come together and express & promote their cultural tradition.
• To present an annual series of Indian classical dance programs for the general public.
• To offer workshops for dancers (both Indian and Non-Indian) to learn Indian Classical dance repertoire and techniques.
• Annual Show: every year, Kalanikethan celebrates Indian dance with an exhilarating performance to showcase the year’s accomplishments.
